Bunratty Castle Hotel Wedding Photography

I absolutely love history. I’m a bit of a nerd like that. Being a wedding photographer at the Bunratty Castle Hotel is right up my alley. Not only is the hotel charming and very handy to get to, but you also get to use the historic castle grounds right beside the hotel for your wedding photography.  You can even drop into Dirty Nelly’s beside the castle for a cheeky pint after your photos if you’re feeling thirsty.

Bunratty Castle is a 15th Century tower house located on the banks of the river Ratty in County Clare. It is one of the finest examples of a medieval castle in Ireland. Any couple who have their wedding at the Bunratty Castle Hotel can get avail of the castle and folk park for their wedding pictures. It’s a fantastic location for wedding photography. The folk park has lots of charming thatched cottages, fairy forests and a 19th-century town that serve as a great backdrop for pictures.

It was such a pleasure to be Neasa & Gearoid’s wedding photographer. The day started out in Ballina and then on to Rearcross where they got married in the local church. After the ceremony, we went straight to the folk park for a stroll and some portraits. Neasa and Gearoid were just great to work with and I hardly had to give them any direction at all. Then we went across the road to the hotel where there was plenty of dinner and dancing.
